ONE-LAP AROUND THE MINIMAX - Part 2
Your tour continues at Turn 3, a left-hand sweeper with a nasty surprise at the end.
You can follow the course on the map.

Sinclair Tank & Curve

Around Dino curve.
Old-timers chuckle and say that the Dino eats careless racers who haven't scrubbed off enough speed as they enter the tight segment of the big curve. (And you thought the Commendatore named that car after his son).

The trick, of course, is not to be so afraid of the tight part that you brake early in the curve and lose time on the fast wide-radius portion.

The curve suddenly snaps to the right and empties out into the long level straight that runs along the billboard wall.

Reverse Curve

Billboard Wall Straight
Down the straight, building up as much speed as possible before braking for Turn 5 at the entrance to the tunnel.

The Jaguar plunges into momentary darkness in the short straight inside the tunnel. Can the Mangusta use the inside track of the upcoming right-hander to get back in the race?

Tunnel

Memorial Curve
The racers power through Memorial turn. The cross on the hill marks the spot where the great Quartlowe put his works Aston into the limestone cliff at 85 mph, back in 1958.

Spectators on the hill watch the cars swerve through the chicane, where rough track compounds the danger, and head for the Start-Finish line at the end of Lap One. The Mangusta has already frittered away its brief lead gained on the inside lane of Memorial curve, and the flat-handling Jaguar is odds-on to be first past the line.
